Kristi Kisamore, Principal

Kristi Kisamore

It is truly an honor to serve as the founding Principal of Colony Oaks Elementary School. I believe that the strongest schools are built on meaningful partnerships between students, families, and staff. Together, we are creating a welcoming school community where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

I have more than 19 years of experience in education, including 14 years proudly serving the students and families of Bastrop ISD. My career began as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher in Bastrop and Hillsboro before moving into leadership roles as the Response to Intervention Teacher and Instructional Coach at Red Rock Elementary. In 2018, I became the Assistant Principal at Riverside Middle School (formerly Bastrop Intermediate School), was named Principal in 2020, and had the incredible opportunity to open Colony Oaks Elementary as its founding principal in 2023.

I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University. Bastrop is home for my family, and when I'm not at school, you'll usually find my husband and me sitting on the sidelines of one of our three sons' soccer, football, or baseball games.

I am grateful for the trust our families, staff, and community have placed in me to continue leading Colony Oaks Elementary. It is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated educators and supportive families to help every child reach their full potential. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child's educational journey. We look forward to making this another amazing year together.
